Every year we host a gala for our swimmers to compete against other clubs from in and around London. These friendly competitions are always great fun and a memorable day for all involved.
So that all swimmers who have different disabilities can compete fairly and equally, we use a special timing method which means that all swimmers have to submit the time for their race ahead of the gala. The winner of the race isn’t the one who finishes first but the one who can match their pre-submitted time the closest. It’s about winning against your personal best.
Each lane is then watched by individual timers.
After the races, the competitors are rewarded with their medals and trophies.
